About Us

The PMRC

The PMRC is an international organisation of lay Catholics, clergy and religious dedicated to providing innovative programs and resources for parishes and communities.  At the heart of its activities are its insights into Matrimony, sexuality and lay empowerment. Founded in 1978 by Fr Charles Gallagher S.J., well known for his leadership role in Worldwide Marriage Encounter, the PMRC has a long history of service to the Church.  Established to help lead the Church into a deeper awareness and experience of the relational nature of the Catholic faith, it aims to invigorate parishes and communities primarily through the empowerment of the Sacrament of Matrimony.  Today, the PMRC is lead by lay Catholics who have responded to the call of Pope John Paul II’ s “new evangelization”. Its programs and resources span almost all stages of Catholic faith-life formation with a particular emphasis on the sacrament of Matrimony and sexual love. It draws inspiration from the Theology of the Body and the writings of Fr Gallagher, both of which draw one into a profound encounter with the Divine through a full appreciation of the purpose and meaning of sexual love.  The PMRC is active in a of number countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Uganda.  It has a rapidly growing number of digital resources, complementing its traditional written and personally delivered resources and programs.

LivingWell Media

Focused on the production of digital  media resources, LWM has a particular emphasis on contemporary Catholic teaching in the area of sexuality, marriage and relationships. The Theology of the Body is a strong feature in the product range.
